THE HOUSE CODE / VERSION 14 OCTOBER 2026

Good company.
Clear commitments.

A few thoughtful boundaries make room for an honest conversation.

01

A room worth protecting.

The quality of Quorum House rests on trust. These commitments apply to members, guests and hosts, in person, online and at The Monday Club. We welcome different backgrounds, ideas and ways of doing business. Contribution and conduct matter; school, social connections and status do not.

02

The Chatham House Rule comes first.

Under the Chatham House Rule, members may use what they learn, but must not reveal who said it or identify any other participant or their organisation. Our House Code also protects personal information and material identified as confidential. A public profile never makes a private conversation public. Keep membership attendance, private messages, documents, personal data and material identified as confidential within the agreed audience unless the person concerned permits disclosure. Confidentiality continues after participation ends, subject to lawful disclosure and protected reporting.

03

Use the learning. Protect the detail.

Do not record, photograph, transcribe, screenshot or feed a discussion into AI without prior, informed agreement from everyone affected. General learning from standard discussions may be used without attribution, within the Rule and this code. Publication of a member’s story, quotation, tagging or identifiable case study requires separate approval of the actual material. Removing a name is not enough if the remaining details could identify a person or business.

04

Bring only what you may share.

You retain ownership of your ideas and materials. Do not disclose another person’s trade secrets, customer data, personal information or information you are under a duty to protect. Share the minimum needed to explore a question; use broad ranges and remove identifying details. The host can pause a discussion if it is too sensitive.

05

Challenge the idea. Respect the person.

Listen carefully, make room for others and disagree without belittling anyone. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation and unwanted attention have no place here. Different views are welcome; nobody is asked to agree with the room or perform a particular social identity.

06

Declare the interest.

Tell the chair about relevant commercial relationships, competing interests, referral fees or personal stakes before a discussion. Step back where a conflict cannot be managed. Do not solicit investments, pitch services or use a member’s information for commercial advantage without an invitation.

07

Protect the business as well as the conversation.

Do not exchange competitively sensitive information, coordinate prices, wages or market behaviour, or seek to use inside information. Members remain responsible for their decisions. Discussion is experience shared, not a promise of results or a substitute for appropriate professional advice.

08

Respect people’s time and choices.

Attend considerately, introduce guests only with the host’s agreement and respect decisions to listen, decline a question or remain private. No unsolicited sales messages, public invite links or forwarding from member channels. Optional experiences and commercial introductions require a clear agreement between those involved.

09

Raise a concern in confidence.

Contact the host privately if something feels wrong or information has been shared inappropriately. Tell us promptly about a suspected data incident; stop further sharing and preserve relevant evidence. We will hear concerns fairly, limit access to those who need to know and protect people who raise a concern in good faith.

10

A fair response, when it is needed.

The host may pause a discussion, restrict access or suspend participation to protect members while a concern is assessed. We will explain the concern, give the person a reasonable opportunity to respond and decide proportionately. Serious or repeated breaches may end membership in accordance with the agreed membership terms. Nothing in this code prevents lawful reporting or statutory rights.

A PRIVATE ROUTE TO THE HOST

Raise a concern or ask a question
11

Private Circles. An additional commitment.

Private Circles are smaller, separately curated groups for members who need tighter boundaries. Participants are matched for relevant experience, shared priorities and manageable conflicts. Access is by separate approval and signed confidentiality agreement, before sensitive material is shared.

Within these groups, discussion and material remain within the approved circle, including de-identified learning, unless the agreement expressly permits otherwise. No forwarding to the wider network. The separate agreement defines scope, permitted recipients, exclusions, duration, security, retention and remedies. Recording or AI use requires separate informed agreement and approved handling arrangements. Statutory rights and protected reporting remain intact.
